Lesson: The Messengers of Allah
We believe in Allah’s messengers
Believing in Allah’s messengers is part of what every Muslim believes. It is one of the things our faith — our Iman — is built on.
Allah tells us that the believers believe in Allah, and in His angels, and in His books, and in His messengers (Qur’an 2:285).
One message for everyone
Allah did not send just one messenger. He sent a messenger to every people, in every land, long ago.
They had different names and lived at different times, but they all brought the same message: worship Allah alone, and stay away from false gods (Qur’an 16:36). Every messenger called people back to the One who made them.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — the final messenger
The last of all the messengers is Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. After him, there will be no more prophets. Allah calls him the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets (Qur’an 33:40).
Even before he became a prophet, the people of Makkah trusted him so much that they called him Al-Ameen — “the trustworthy one” (Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum). He was honest, kind, and gentle to everyone.
A mercy we love and follow
Allah sent Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a mercy for all the worlds (Qur’an 21:107). Allah Himself praised him, saying he has the best and greatest character (Qur’an 68:4).
That is why Muslims love the Prophet ﷺ and try to be like him. Allah tells us that in the Messenger of Allah there is an excellent example to follow (Qur’an 33:21). When we are honest, kind, and caring, we are following our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
