1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between Nahla Learning (“we”) and the parent or guardian who opens an account (“you”). By creating an account or using nahlalearning.com you accept them.
2. Accounts
- Accounts are opened by a parent or guardian, not by a child.
- You are responsible for keeping the login details private and for what happens on the account.
- One account is for one user. For larger groups and madrasahs, please contact us.
- Tell us at nahlalearning@gmail.com if you think someone else has your password.
3. What we provide
Access to online Islamic studies courses for the key stages we have opened. We add subjects and year groups over time; anything shown as locked is not yet part of what you have access to.
The site is built on Moodle, a widely used open-source learning platform. We host it ourselves on servers in the United Kingdom, so your child’s work and progress stay on our own system. What Moodle stores about an account is set out in our Privacy Policy.
We try to keep the site available at all times but cannot promise it will never be down, for example during maintenance or if our hosting provider has a problem.
4. Cost
Nahla Learning is free to sign up to, and will always include features that are free to use. Some features may require payment. Where they do, the price and what it includes will be shown clearly before you commit to anything, and you will never be charged without agreeing first.
If we introduce a paid feature, we will explain at the point of purchase how long it lasts and how to cancel it. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
5. Using the site properly
You agree not to:
- Share your login with people outside your household, or resell access
- Copy, bulk-download, re-upload or redistribute our lessons, quizzes, images or audio
- Try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site
- Use the site to send anything abusive, harmful or unlawful
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable we will warn you first and explain why.
6. Who owns the content
The lessons, quizzes, activities, illustrations, the Nahla bee character and the site design belong to us or to our licensors. You may use them for your own child’s learning at home. You may not republish them or use them commercially without written permission.
Qur’anic text and translations, hadith, and any other third-party material remain the property of their respective owners and are used with attribution.
7. Accuracy of religious content
We take care to present Islamic material accurately: Qur’an references are given in full with recitation, and authentic hadith are used and cited to their source. Content is reviewed before it is opened to learners.
Even so, this is an educational resource and not a substitute for a qualified teacher or scholar. If you believe something is wrong, please tell us using the “Spotted a mistake?” button on any page, or by email. We take these reports seriously and correct genuine errors.
8. Links to other sites
Some lessons link to outside material such as Qur’an recitation. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Otherwise, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for loss of profit or business, as the site is provided for personal home education.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For significant changes we will email account holders and give 30 days notice before they take effect.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
